Ms. Alicja has been an English teacher for many years and also has had the wonderful experience of writing and editing dictionaries for children and youth. She later began her doctorate in linguistics.

Many phrases originate from ancient Rome or Greece and have been present in most European languages for centuries. For instance, the proverb pecunia non olet (money doesn’t smell) is found in every modern language!
While choosing a picture portraying a particular expression, I knew exactly where to look in classical art.”
