Ms. Alicja has been an English teacher for many years and also has had the  wonderful experience of writing and editing dictionaries for children and youth. She later began her doctorate in linguistics.

” My Master’s in History of Art turned out to be very helpful while writing the Proverbs and Phrases Dictionary for Middle and High School Students.

Many phrases originate from ancient Rome or Greece and have been present in most European languages for centuries. For instance, the proverb pecunia non olet (money doesn’t smell) is found in every modern language!

While choosing a picture portraying a particular expression, I knew exactly where to look in classical art.”
In addition to her hard work at the school, she is also thinking of completing her doctorate!
Good luck with everything and welcome aboard, Ms. Alicja! 🙂
