Our definition of learning

At Thames British School we know that learning is a continuous and dynamic process of intellectual, emotional, and social growth, where individuals acquire, understand, and apply knowledge, skills, and values. This transformative journey, shaped by both intentional and diverse experiences, fosters lifelong development, adaptability, and the ability to act in a global and culturally diverse world.

Our Development Theme
Dare to CARE: Fostering a culture of care through action.

We c | a | r | e about the future.

We live in a time of rapid and consequential change with technology, social media and IA providing new ways to work, play and interact with each other. Many of our students will live to see the next century and we have know way of knowing what that may look like. Our responsibility is to prepare our students for an unknowable future by fostering values that provide the foundations for current and future success.

“It takes a village to raise a child” (African proverb).

We c | a | r | e about our village and the well being of our community and the individuals and families that form it. Use pulse to ask our older students how they are feeling each week, we have robust child protection policies and procedures and dedicated professionals serving as DSL’s on each campus and specialists to ensure the wellbeing of all our students. We also expect that all members of our community behave in a manner that is consistent with our values and our agenda of c | a | r | e.
