After a two-year candidacy period, Thames British School Warsaw has officially joined the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) — a global community founded in 1953 that unites educational institutions committed to promoting cultural diversity, democracy, human rights, peace, and sustainable development.

ASPnet connects schools in more than 180 countries, creating opportunities for collaboration and intercultural dialogue worldwide. Becoming part of this network strengthens our school’s mission to educate responsible, compassionate, and globally minded citizens.

Our official certificate of membership was awarded during the ASPnet Annual Conference, held on October 9–10 in Warsaw. Thames British School was represented by Ms. Agnieszka Muc, our History teacher and ASPnet School Coordinator.

The conference was opened by Ms. Katarzyna Lubnauer, Vice Minister of Education, and Professor Michał Kleiber, and brought together educators and coordinators from across Poland to share experiences and ideas for fostering UNESCO’s values in schools.

Joining ASPnet marks an important milestone for Thames British School — one that recognises our ongoing efforts to integrate global citizenship education and sustainability into everyday learning. We are excited to embark on this new chapter and to contribute to the UNESCO network’s vision of building a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
