Thames British School Warsaw recently wrapped up its annual Polish Week, a lively and enriching celebration of Poland’s history, culture, and language.
From Early Years and Primary students to those in Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and IBDP/A Levels, every student had the chance to participate in a wide variety of educational and fun activities designed to deepen their connection to the host country.
The week’s activities were thoughtfully integrated into the school’s curriculum, allowing students to engage with Polish culture in a meaningful way. Here’s a look at some of the key highlights:
- – History and Culture: Students immersed themselves in Polish heritage by learning about the nation’s history, language, and culture.
- – Art and National Symbols: Creativity flourished as students participated in hands-on art workshops. They explored Poland’s national symbols, creating their own interpretations of the Polish flag and other iconic emblems.
- – Polish Literature and Media: Campuses came alive with the sound of traditional Polish legends and fairy tales. Students also enjoyed screenings of popular Polish films and learned to sing patriotic Polish songs.
- – Gastronomy: One of the week’s most anticipated activities was the chance to sample a range of delicious Polish dishes.
- – Physical Activity and Dance: Students participated in spirited running races and learned the elegant moves of the Polonaise, the country’s iconic national dance, in a fun and dynamic way.
- – Knowledge Building: Educational sessions focused on intriguing trivia about Poland, giving all students, especially international learners, a deeper appreciation for the country they call home.
Thames British School Warsaw extends its gratitude to the entire community for their enthusiastic participation, which made Polish Week 2025 an outstanding success across all four campuses.
